At my computer
After much consideration, I have decided that it wouldn't be worth it to leave my touch for an iPhone 2.0 when everything it adds (3G and GPS) don't pertain to me. I'm wondering where I can get the original iPhone for a cheaper price NEW? Preferably I would like to find it on a real website and not just on ebay. Thanks!

Im not sure about in the US, but in the UK the new 3g iPhone is $340 cheaper than the 2g with the same contract rates

anyway, the 2g iphone can be bought at any AT&T stores that still have stock until the stock runs out

Seeing as Apple and AT&T were the only ones that could distribute iPhones in the US, you'd have a tough time trying to find a "real" place that will stock them under retail price, especially new ones.

Welcome me to the iPhone.....

I just scored a brand new in box iPhone for $150......I should have it in my hot little hands by Friday:).

Back on topic: I would suggest Craigslist. The prices are a less compared to Ebay.

Where did you score one for $150? refurb?

$399 for 8 and $499 for 16. New in box. I plan on picking up the 8gb tomorrow with the old iphone plan.

Even with my employee discount, (there is no discount for unlimited $99.99 plan, and with the data + 200 text, its $34; puts me at $133.99 vs $119.99)

Ya........why in the hell would I pay twice the amount for an older device? Granted it ends up being cheaper in the end but not by much.......at that point you might as well just buy the newest regardless of if your going to use it or not.

It is a NIB (new in box) 8 gb iPhone. I bought it from a college kid --- girl ---who got the phone as a graduation gift but had never used it. It is locked, which is fine as I plan to use it on the AT&T network.

I love Craigslist and the prices are much better than Ebay, IMO.

Did you find it on craigslist?

"Granted it ends up being cheaper in the end but not by much"

iPhone + old plan + 2 years = 3278.76
iPhone3g + new plan + 2 years + dock = 3464.75

Yes, I found her on Craigslist. She even threw in a brand new case:D. I also had a back-up offer at $220, and another for $180 but I would have had to wait until July 11 for that phone, which I wasn't willing to do. I go on vacation in early July, and I wanted to take the phone with me.

I live in FL, and there were quite a few phones up for sale. The were several people who countered at $300, but I wasn't willing to pay more than $250 for yesterday's technology.
