I have a black MacBook that I bought a few years back with Tiger pre-installed. I upgraded to Leopard last fall. It has been all well and good, but suddenly several apps that came pre-installed when I originally bought my MacBook disappeared. Though several programs disappeared I am mainly concerned with iLife '06, which of course came with my laptop. All iLife programs except iWeb (which ironically is the only one I never used) are gone; iPhoto, iMovie etc etc etc.

I have heard that if i had the restore DVD's from my original purchase i could simply just reinstall my missing programs. But I haven't the slightest clue where they are at and am looking for a way to get an alternate set of restore DVD's.

any suggestions?

AppleCare can sometimes replace them for $16 per disc, which for two comes to about $32 plus tax. Give the answering agent the serial number and they'll run it through the system to see if the discs can be re-printed.
