Where to open proxies?

I'm trying to open a proxy in order to download a torrent I need, but I'm not sure how it works. Is it as easy as selecting one of the options in the Network prefs? There are several options like Web Proxy, Secure Web Proxy, etc.

Which one do I input the proxy? Thanks!
