Hi,

I am still relatively new to OS X (coming from Windows) and one thing I cannot find anywhere and which drives me nuts is the estimated download time when downloading something from the internet (not app store). I can see the progress bar but that does not tell me much... Google was not my friend, could not find any solution to that.

Many thanks!

??? I mean I have started the download, I see the progress bar but there is nowhere a time estimate.

Hmm. You seem to be looking in the right place; the time should appear next to the progress bar and speed. Do you see any text at all?

Hi,

I don't get that download windows in your screenshot. I look in finder under downloads and there is only this progress bar - no text.

I got to that one from the download icon in the top-right corner of Safari (which is what iMacBooked was referring to above). You can also go to View > Show Downloads.
