I recently bought my 2008 iMac but have discovered I need the portability of a MacBook Pro, the older one.

Now the obvious option is ebay but Im not over keen on selling on there...

are there any specific sites for buying/selling mac equipment?

cheers

Wait six months, get 250 posts, and then post in the Marketplace here.

You can't do it now, and don't try to sell it anywhere else on here.

I wasn't aware of the there is a sub forum for trading, no need for your snide reply I was only enquiring if there are specific sites for buying/selling apple products and asking for a price range I should be looking at.
Sorry to have "bothered" you.

Sorry to have "bothered" you.

Sorry to have "helped" you...

It's against the rules to post it anywhere outside the Marketplace here, and I was informing you of that. You'd also have known about the Marketplace if you had read the forum rules before posting, as you were instructed to do. ;)

I'd say that eBay is your best bet at the moment. The marketplace here is good, but it's for members that have been around a bit longer than a second or two.

Yeah thanks, I wasnt try to sell on here sorry if It came across that way.

Lol, sorry my frustration got the better of me as I trawl through google search results trying to find a decent place to sell ha.

If not the Marketplace here, then eBay or Craigslist are good places.

Craigslist being the safest, as you can choose to only deal in person. Never go alone. :D

Thanks, never thought of Craigslist, i'll have a look now :)

Craigslist is a viable method to sell it, but be careful of payments and shipping the computer somewhere. Much safer to do a person to person cash only deal.
Also when you demo the computer, have prospective buyers come somewhere other than your home, your work office for example, if you can. Also as said before try to have someone there with you.

Craigslist is a good option if you meet in person at a very public place and go with a friend. One idea would be to meet in a public library that has wi-fi; then you can show that the wi-fi works also. Take only cash, not a check. Don't even think of shipping it.
