Hello there,

I got an unused SSD sized at 240GB, exchanged for an equally new VDSL2 modem. According to its specs sheet, it looks OK, but has a curiously low IOPS rating for 4K writes, and a pretty high power consumption.

I was wondering what computer I should install it in.

I currently have a budget-priced 240GB (AMD Radeon) intended for use with a Raspberry Pi (printer and scanner sharing, mostly), a 120GB OWC drive in a MacBook5,2 that's a bit tight, but fits my needs so far and is rock-stable, and a beefed-up laptop from 2009 (T9600 Core2Duo, 8GB RAM) that's a bit hampered by its slow / small 240GB spinning at 5400rpms (tri-boot takes a lot of space). And a Banana Pi I intend to use as a streaming media receiver.

First, I thought that I wouldn't gain much by installing this Intel SSD in the 2009 PC since it's even smaller than the HDD it would replace. I am hesitating between attaching it to the BananaPi and enjoy a completely silent server, or the MacBook5,2 where space is still tight, since I don't know the implications of having such a low IOPS rating on write operations.

So, where would this SSD best fit?
