Got my first gold and first Pro Max phone today. I am loving it! Very fancy...
I got the Gold, and I think it looks very similar to last year's gold (the 14 may be a tiny bit lighter). I usually run the iphone naked, but I got an Umber Leather case for occasional use. I think it is a decent looking combo.
It’s definitely not the most popular color, but I love mine! I was a space gray everything person before jumping on gold for 12 PM, no regrets for the 14 PM either

Got the 14 Pro Max in Gold after going with Sierra Blue on last year's 13 Pro Max. Like @fwmireault I used to buy exclusively Space Grey-coloured devices (hence my username) before making the switch. I think it looks classy yet not too ostentatious.

Returned a purple 14 Pro for a gold 14 Pro Max, the color of the purple was too dark for me and I didn't like it. Previously had a white X, so the gold really appealed to me and I think the phone looks fantastic in gold. Besides, it's more champagne than gold really.
Lucky people. I ordered my iPhone Max Pro at 10:00 AM on the first day, and my shipping date is Oct 10-17. Having said that, all my friends just went to the Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobil, and US Cellular and got them on the first day. When will I learn?
Ip14 Pro Max 256 Gold here as well. I have always went with gold on my iphones. Never jumped on the "new color of this model year" bandwagon. I think in the right case the gold iphones look very classy. And of course now since it is not the "new color of this model year" it usually has no problem with being sold out and such.

I moved from a 13 Pro Max Blue Sierra to my 14 Pro Max in Gold. I was set on purple on the pre order but just couldn’t imagine that I would like it in the long run.

The stainless steel is a solid gold color, but the glass is more of a cream color. Personally I like it, but it might not be for everyone

Same here man. I tried to like the deep purple every day since launch day, but I finally gave up and just initiated the return today and ordered myself a gold. I've gone back to my gold 13 Pro Max for the meantime and I am already far happier to be using the gold colour again.
The inconsistency of the purple is the problem for me. When it catches the light just right, it is a beautiful rich but not dark purple. If it was that purple all the time, I would be happy with it. Fact is, most of the time the purple shows up either way too dark, or like a bright muted grey. There were just too many times I looked at it and wasn't happy with it.
I just hope the 14 Pro Max isn't too much whiter/brighter. I like how yellow/gold the 13 Pro is, and wouldn't want that diluted.
Changed my 14 Pro for a Pro Max, and took the opportunity to go from space black to Gold. Love the gold!
I'm so curious to see what the gold is like compared to last year's 13 Pro gold. Nobody has really talked about it much, even in YouTube videos. Guess I'll have to wait until it arrives in 4-5 weeks to check it out in person!
It's very similar. The change between 12 and 13 was small and the change between 13 and 14 is even smaller.
