The hold up is that there is no rush as far as Apple is concerned.

They are probably taking their time finding out what the app does and what kind of information it sends back to Google so that Apple can have a better idea about what kind of demographic/user information Google is collecting.

Obviously, Apple sees Google as a competitor.... so they are probably very interested in learning as much as they can about Google's practices/behavior.

Wish they'd just approve it already. Investigate further afterwards. Hate the agonizingly slow app approval process. So many useless crap apps are shepherded through and something in such high demand is getting held up? Bah.

Google+

I know that Google+ is in beta form but I see Droid users w/ their Google+ app. Anyone know if Google is coming out w/ a Google+ app soon for :apple:?

I read somewhere that its been submitted, awaiting approval.

A buddy of mine just showed me that I can access google+ from a safari browser on the phone and add the page to the home screen of the phone. Then a google+ icon will populate... closest thing to an app i guess... reminds me of having metroPCS and how their apps used to run smh...

The Google+ webapp is surprisingly good. (the process the previous poster explained) While I would love to have a native app, I think we will all have to wait at list a little while longer (again, for reasons the previous posters mentioned, especially the competitor comment). This may signal that apple is attempting to get into the social media world themselves (doubtful), and also they may be worried that some of the G+ features will be too similar to iOS5 which of course they would completely block, like always.
