I read this off spymac:

"No new products (two button mice, iBooks) have been announced at this point, and such announcements seem unlikely giving the nature of the keynote."

Where's the ibook? how much longer are they going to make us wait.

this really sucks

well at this point it does seem unlikely.

but don't count out an update soon. especially given apple's recent "small" type updates.

and it does seem like they'd want to almost get it over with before mwny so that the powermac and imac (maybe) will be the big upgrades... powermac mainly.

it will most likely be a mid week or even next week arrival. WWDC so far has been all about the software. Figures, especially since we got the TiPB update last week.

Patience......

OK, so we wait, guess that some new hardware releases are not far now. (MWNY, or earlier for minor hardw rel, like mice)

Um, what?!?

This is a developer con.........why would Apple release ANYTHING at a developer con? Not even the described software is being released, just teased.

And don't site the servers. They're not a consumer product, they weren't being released just advertised.

We will see new Towers and new iBooks between now and september. Keep yer shorts on.

the new imac will launch to coincide with jaguar's consumer release. this is because to run most apps on jaguar you need a 32mb graphics card and jobs himself said it wont run on older cards such as the rage 128. watch it happen.

the new iBook was just released in December/January, so it's not quite 6 months yet. and don't forget that Apple said that they were going to stagger the releases of new products, so that there will always be something new out there. and i think that there will have to be a new TiBook or at least a revision before new iBooks. if they put the iBook up to 700MHz that would be too close to the TiBooks, even though the iBooks are G3.

adding a 14inch screen isn't an update, the processor and graphics are almost 2 years old.

From a stock perspective, it does make sense. Spread out the newsworthy events rather than have them all clustered together. That's why they had stock dips after MWs... everyone knew all announcements were made at that one time, and when it doesn't live up to huge hype, the stock would drop. Now, we just don't know whether there are other things around the corner (other than what they let us know, or some joe steals and puts on ebay)

You mean the new iBook right? If so I think your right, it'll probably be released when 10.2 is, if not earlier. I'm guessing earlier though. Who would buy an iBook right now knowing what we do now about the future of OSX?
