I have VZW, on my iPad it comes with it free - seems like my iphone 5 doesn't let me turn it on without calling VZW first - is it another charge for it?

Mine wasn't showing initially either. I had to go to Settings > General > Cellular to get it to toggle on. I didn't do anything, it just "showed up" once i did that. You might want to restart the phone as well.

If you are on unlimited you can go to the verizon site and add it and it will work.

Why wouldn't they just let us have it without having to pay... I mean they throttle unlimited after 5gb... And anyone else would have to pay if they went over regardless... I just don't understand why they wouldn't make it a feature on all of them

Yeah but they want $30/month to turn this on for people with unlimited data.

$30 mobile hotspot add on for grandfathered unlimited.

But trade off is u get unlimited mobile hotspot for $30. That's right unlimited mobile hotspot for $30. And if u get corp discounts. It's really only $24 after discounts.

Unbelievable deal for unlimited hotspot $30 add on.

Oh by the way. Verizon can block mywi tethering and other tethering apps for those on unlimited plans. They can't block tethering apps for those on tiered data plans

Verizon does not throttle LTE unlimited data users (yet).

Forgive my ignorance , I have the mobile shared plan and so is Personal Hotspot included in my plan? I don't get charge additional if I turn it on?

Also can I tether my wifi new iPad to my iPhone 5 using personal hotspot? Please advise. Thanks.

Yes it's included on any able device that's on a mobileshare plan..

If anyone has that app that got passed in the iTunes store and can send it to me or direct me to a place that I can download an app that has the ability to thether, I will gladly PayPal someone money.

I love the unlimited data, but am not going to spend another $30 to tether

I have yet to be throttled and I hit up to 80GB/mo.

wow what a rip off -

wasn't there a free app somewhere to bypass all this?

Apple removed it from the App Store shortly after it was released. If you JB, there is one you can buy on the Cydia store. Well, when a JB is released for the 5.

So let me get this right:
You have to be on the new family share plan for this to be available for free? And just a regular/old family plan you have to pay the $30 to get it?
Unlimited regular/old family plan gets it free?

No, they pay $30. You only get it for free on the new sharing plans I believe.
