I want a 30" display, I am in the UK so it has to be one available over here.

The only two I know of is Apple and Dell.
Apple - Cheaper because of HE discount, 400 brightness, 800:1 contrast
Dell - 300 brightness, 1000:1 contrast, HDCP

Any other brands?

HP LP3065

As far as I remember, the Dell and Apple 30" uses the same panels, Dell just inflate the specs.
In essence, they are the same, buy the cheapest.
(Or, if you want more connections, the Dell; a prettier setup, the Apple)

They actually just use the same panel but otherwise different hardware to drive the screen and backlight.

Apple if SWOP Color Accuracy is Important

Buy the Apple over the Dell or HP if SWOP certified Color Matching is important to you for both print and broadcast design and commercial printing.

Many other 30" monitors, while cheaper, or perhaps higher in Gamut, have wildly unpredictable colors with little reference to output.

I will be going for the Apple 30"er but should i wait? these panels have been out for ages... and aren't they gonna put an iSight in?

i really like my 30" apple.
i hope they don't put an isight in.
in my opinion they should not add isights to the
proline. but this has already been debated several times...

I've got a 30" and I love it, though if you are sensitive to "Graininess" I would hold off.

I'm holding out for a display with an iSight personally. I have an original iSight but would like to see it incorporated. I like the 23" myself. I think the 30" is a little too big.

New displays either at WWDC or not until 2008 most likely and have higher DPI. I highly doubt isights will go in now that they've allowed for many other web cams to be used.

I think i will wait until after WWDC, it's not long.

If nothing comes by then i will just order!

HP LP3065 30" With Both Wide Color Gamut & 3 Dual Link DVI Inputs

HP LP3065
I concurr. Only way to go with 30" now. Dell & Apple are out of the market as far as I'm concerned. 3 DL DVI inputs are worth $800 alone.

But true dat. Both the newest Dell and the HP have new wider color gamut than the old Apple. But the Apple is perfectly color calibrated for print folk.
