Apple’s core apps are getting better and better. Today wasn’t the most groundbreaking WWDC but a lot of enhancements came out. Obviously the apps on this poll are all solid and I don’t see them going away but Apple is getting closer.

Is the clipboard manager coming to iOS too? Or is that Mac-only?

EDIT: Sticking on topic, I don't know that any of these are really Sherlocked. Apple brought native window management to MacOS last year and I still use Swish because Apple's implementation was too clunky and basic. We'll have to see what the limitations of Apple's versions are. I suspect more crafted 3rd party apps will still do well, the Apple features will just surface these sorts of features to more casual users.

These are good points. I did ditch 1Password for Apple Password and happy with that app.

Been using an app called Parcel to track all my packages. It works brilliantly, and even pulls in Amazon shipments automatically. However, if Wallet starts scanning through incoming email to pull in tracking numbers, that could take a big divot out of Parcel's business.

As for Spotlight, I've been an Alfred user for quite a few years now, but if the new Spotlight proves to be as good as it looked... well, that could do it for me. That said, Alfred's true core is power-user scripting workflow stuff that I'm not sure Spotlight can match. I guess we'll see.

You don't think
I disagree. Spotlight is getting worse and worse with every release. It appears to be full of bloatware in macOS 26, like SM - send message. More, developers can inject their apps’ actions into Spotlight, some more garbage that I will have to disable.
I’m looking at alternatives and probably stop using Spotlight

How has integrating keyboard shortcuts and adding activities like reminders making spotlight worse? I don't see that at all. Granted, Mail is garbage and always has been but I see spotlight, notes, reminders improving significantly over the past couple of years.

Because it gets in the way of searching for files or launching apps, it clutters the results with entries I don’t want and I can’t disable.

No it doesn't, you can use spotlight in exactly the same way you've always used it, pressing command space and then typing chrome for example gives you exactly the same result as previously, hitting enter then launches the app.

Even now the results include clutter. How do I remove "Suggestions" and "Help"? And they will get even more full of garbage I don't want to see.
