Which 27" or larger second monitor would you recommend? I would like one that pivots to portrait orientation and makes the best use of the graphics capabilities of the new iMac. I am so totally confused by all the refresh rates and other specs and whether the mac supports them or not. I also am confused by how to connect it. Do I buy a thunderbolt to Display port adapter? And one or two of them? I am a graphic designer and sharpness and easy on the eyes for many hours of the day are important. I never play any games. My budget would be up to $1000.

Use the included HDMI cable and a HDMI -> Display Port adapter, or buy a thunderbolt cable and use that (the monitor has a display port).
