Which 4S have preinstalled iOs 5.1?

I want to buy 4S, but I want buy it with 5.0.1 to have jb. Which production week iPhones have preinstalled 5.1? iPhone which i wanna buy have production week 9. Does it have 5.0.1(its unactivated)

I wouldn't be surprised if the 5.0.1s are all sold out and all they are selling now are the 5.1s

If your buying used ask the seller. How could we help you with that information when they could have upgraded?

Read the first post. I buy used which is unactivated. In unactivated you cant check fw version. So only i have prodcution week

if it's week 9, it is the last week of February, so it is likely to have 5.0.1. iOS 5.1 wasn't released till March 7th or the 9th I believe.

Even if you buy used, there's now way to guarantee that it's on 5.0.1 or 5.0 without checking in settings. To be safe, activate it and check.

Got lucky Sunday and picked up an AT&T 16 gb 4S at Best Buy running 5.0.1. Fiancé was not so lucky with her white 16 gig. Came home and jailbroke mine to freedom. So glad I didnt have to wait even though we are supposedly close To a 5.1 jb

You can still check the firmware its on even on unactivated iphones. All you gotta do is plug it in and run tinyumbrella.

Mines a week 6 production but I purchased it on April 8th. So apparently Apple had those in stock for 2 to 3 month sitting on the shelf.

I had 2 5.01 iPhone 4s's purchased earlier this month that were defective (yellow screens with the spotlights at the top). The non-defective one came with 5.1 which was purchased the middle of this month.

Does anyone have the exact week that the 5.0.1 vs 5.1 was changed?

ie:

less than week 9 = 5.0.1
greater than week 9 = 5.1

is it possible to ask the store the serial number before buying?

if the serial number is too new, its better to refund it unopened and sealed?

is there any way to lookup just the the "week of production" without going to the http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html/ site?
