Hi, i have an airport extreme and two iMacs, one with 250gb HD and one with 320gb hd, both with leopard and therefore time machine.

Which would be the best hard drive to buy for use with the USB hub on the airport?

Many thanks.

If your looking for storage and im assuming using it for time machine? I would go with Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition...They come preformatted and are made for mac computers....I believe the sizes range from 500GB - 1TB...I have 1TB I bought back in January...couldn't be happier...

I've had good luck with my Seagate Free Agent, however I would suggest you steer clear of the Maxtor One Touch...mine has been somewhat flitty, although it could just be the cable.

Id pick up an OEM drive WD7500AAKS 750GB from WD; top notch performing drive.

and grab a decent external casing such as the ICYDOCK FW400+USB2 enclosure, they cost usually less then buying a manufactured external drive.
