Which Adapter for new Macbook Pro and older VGA Sony 100GS monitor?

I have an older Sony Multiscan 100GS monitor and a new macbook pro. With my 5 year old Macbook pro I could connect with an adapter. But the new one doesn't have the same pin configuration, so I can't. Which adapter will work with this old monitor? Which would work with a new non-Apple monitor (e.g., Acer, Samsung)?
