Just curious. I use Ping for errors (standard system sounds) and Glass for other alert sounds (e.g. alarms in iCal, when a new contact logs in at Skype or when a torrent has finished downloading in Transmission).
All sounds can be found in System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects or in /System/Sounds where you can also put your custom sounds (in .aiff format).
