Which app to use to burn an AVI/MPG with subs

So I've googled this so many times but I can only find solutions for Windows.

I have an .avi video that I want to watch on my xbox 360 with my friends. The movie is in spanish, which is perfectly fine for me, but I need english subtitles to go along with it so my friends can understand it.

The subs I have are in .sub format and the video I have is in .avi and I used Burn to see if I could try to add the subs but it just converted the avi to mpg.
I read on another forum to use Sizzle (to add the subs) but I don't really understand how to use it.

So, which program do I need to accomplish this task?
