I purchased Apple’s clear case, as well as the Red, Kumquat, and Plum silicone cases.
Just to be clear, I like to go caseless as often as possible, but every now and then I feel I need a little extra protection (exercise, travel, on-the-go, etc.). So I usually get one case to accompany each new iPhone. I always look for an easy-on, easy-off case, too.
I couldn’t stand the clear case: it was very tight, and pretty difficult to get the phone into and out of. I couldn’t help but worry about scratching the phone, even for the one time I put it in and took it out of the case. And the buttons were lacking, too; they felt mushy and devoid of any clear tactical feel and response.
The silicone cases are all comparatively much easier to put on and take off, and the buttons feel great, too.
The Red silicone case is very nice; I thought it looked sharp on my Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro.
The Kumquat is the one I really figured I’d keep: orange is my favorite color and mentally, I was set to declare this color the winner. However, after putting it on the phone, all I could think about were “Circus Peanuts” (I’m hoping there are a few members on here who remember those big bags of rubbery candy treats). It didn’t look bad; just brighter and somehow not as sharp as I had hoped it would.
The Plum more than compensated; it’s a gorgeous color that looks great on this phone, and it’s the one I’ll be keeping. it’s very smart-looking and the color is very complementary to the PB phone.
