Hey,

I've ordered a 12pro that's coming soon, I hope and would like to get an apple watch too as I'm getting back into running. I love wearing watches but do have slightly sensitive skin so I was wondering if you could give me any advice on what the best type is to get to cut down risk of allergies (though I imagine there's always a slight risk with any of them)

I've done some searches on here but still a bit confused with the choice. Just would really appreciate any help. (likely going for the smaller size band because of my wrist size). Thank you.

Probably the leather link. It’s very comfortable and doesn’t bother my skin. I find the space black link bracelet was also very easy on my skin. The sport loop and Milanese loop tend to irritate my skin.

Can I ask what triggers your allergies?

I am not a fan of the sports loop for exercising because I find the nylon material takes a while to dry when wet.

If it’s sweat, the nike band might be good because the holes allow for better ventilation and let your sweat dry faster. It’s also easier to wash with soap after a workout and dry with a towel afterwards.

you could have reactions to either of the type of bands, to all of them, or none of them - only you cn find out.
whichever watch you choose, get another type of band so you can try out what works best for you, remember the 14 day return window.
for me personally, I prefer the Nike sport bands as they are jut a little better for the sweat and easy to clean while showering (I keep my watch on in the shower to clean the band from sweat), but, you will find many different views here

I have sensitive skin. (Understatement). And I live in a hot climate. And I exercise outdoors. For me, the Sport Loop works the best because it's lightweight, breathable and easily adjustable. The adjustability is a big benefit for me, as I can move the band slightly up and down my arm during the day. And you can wash the Sport Loop in the washing machine.

While I love the looks of my Nike band, it's not as breathable or comfortable as the Sport Loop.

The Sport Loop dries quickly (in my climate). I shower with my Watch on (for fall protection). If the band is too damp I just switch bands.

I also have extreme skin sensitivities, and I find that the Milanese Loop has been the best for me. Of course, metal allergies are definitely a thing so your mileage may very.

Apple Watch : Titanium or steel
Band : Braided Solo Loop or Link Bracelet (bracelet not the best choice for running is all)
stay away from silicone. Breathable bands are the best. Sport loop & Milanese are also options.

The sport loop is definitely the first band I would try if i had sensitive skin. The sports band, as well as the new bands start to irritate my skin after many hours. If The skin gets a little red in a certain area as well as a little itchy. The sports loop doesn’t get that way.

I work in a hot environment (most days 90+), therefore I sweat a lot. I have tried virtually all the different bands. The sports loops, in my opinion, are the most breathable and comfortable ones. As for the watch, I have only every owned the stainless steel, which has never been an issue.

Definitely not the sport band, that one left a rash on my wrist. Even the cheap fake leather one I got from Amazon hasn’t done that. I have a couple real leather and a fabric one, I mostly use the fabric for working out and haven’t noticed any issues.
