Hi,
the iOS4 has some "multitasking" possibilities but now I'm not sure when an app really quits. When I double push on the home button I see a huge list of apps. Does it mean they are actually running ? If I open "Processes" in the SBSettings, I also see a lot of apps.

So how do I actually quit an application ?!

This is the iPad subforum, not the iPhone one.

That said, if you hold your finger on an icon, like you would do if you wanted to rearrange an icon on the springboard, you will see that they start to jiggle and a minus sign appears. If you tap that, it will quit entirely.

They aren't perpetually running though. It's just a list of recently-accessed applications and depending on whether or not they've been updated to support iOS 4 they are just in stasis, or not active at all.

oups sorry.

ok I see. So I should not be bothered by this then. Thanks.

Nah it won't drain your battery. But it's good to know how to kill programs because not everything is updated for iOS4 and they don't like the app-switching it employs.
