So I installed a bunch of apps but have removed most. The 3rd party apps just don't seem to be a good fit for the watch UI.

Here are some apps I tried and removed:

Twitter
News 360
CNN
Mint
Yelp
Yahoo Weather (I like the built in app better)
Amazon
CalcBot
Fandango
Instagram

Here are the apps I am keeping on for now:

Pacer (its the step tracker I use on my iPhone)
1Password (useful when I need to login into a website when I'm on someone elses computer)
Hipchat (chat room app I use for work)
Alarm.com (to arm and disarm my home alarm)
Shazam (might remove it as I very rarely even use the iPhone version)
Omni Focus

So which apps are keepers on your watch?

I'm keeping Twitter and Instagram, what made you decide to ditch those?

For twitter I was using the Twifferific app and it was just too slow for me. I'll have to try the native Twitter app. For photo apps likes Instagram I would rather look at larger images on my phone.

only Shazam. I don't see a need to put anything else on the watch.

I wish I could remove the Apple apps I know I will never use. More specifically the Remote Control one. I will NEVER want to use an apple tv or use it to run iTunes on my tv.

Hi

Re Instagram mine only shows a few photos in my feed. Is there a way of getting it to show you more?

I think Calcbot is a keeper, especially the tip calculator. Looking forward to using that on my next restaurant visit :D

The apps I use at the moment:

UK Bus Checker - this is awesome. Once I set my favourite bus stops, it gives me the bus timetable on my wrist. Really helpful since I get the bus almost every day.

BBC News - neat to quickly be able to browse headlines.

Instagram - scrolling through and liking photos is pretty cool, though I prefer viewing them on the larger iPhone.

Onefootball - these kind of apps is what I think the watch was designed for: instantaneous, small bits of information. It was great to get goals and scores pushed to the watch, even if we did lose 2-0...

Roomie - potential to be great as a remote control for TV, but at the moment adding a Sonos component causes it to crash. Fingers crossed it's updated soon.

Shazam - just a bit more convenient to quickly get to as opposed to using the iPhone. Works well, especially the lyrics.

Twitter - I don't really use Twitter, but it made my home screen symmetrical...

Others I haven't installed include djay, Wunderlist and Citymapper just because I don't use them enough. I think Citymapper would be brilliant if you lived in a supported city, but as it is I just use it for infrequent day trips.

I love the bus checker app! :)

City mapper needs to expand! I'm going London next weekend, so will use that then.

BBC News app is good, it's better than what I hear about the US news apps, we get to read articles, they only get 1 liners....

So far I like

Pill Reminder for my own medication and my cat's. That one is a sanity saver because I keep ditzing out since I'm not used to taking medication or administering it on a regular schedule.

Trip Advisor-- shows restaurants and ratings around my house.

1 Password

There's a Bible app on my iPhone called simply Holy Bible that's got several versions of the Bible on it. For the Apple Watch it does verse of the day and trending verses. I'm not a particularly religious Christian, but I find this one actually kind of cool. I wouldn't mind having an app like this for other works of literature.

--------

Time news app crashes on me so I want that one gone for now.

Evernote is iffy. It does not take dictation as well as Siri.

Epicurious is going to be tested later.

I'm going to look for a calculator and a dictionary.

I'm currently liking Wunderlist (for shopping lists etc) and Departure board (train departures and platforms based on your location) Dark Sky is scarily accurate.

I feel annoyed by apps like stocks that I can't remove.

That's some really odd AppleTV hatred for an Apple user.

Love my AppleTV, remote is probably one of the best uses of the watch. The stock Apple remote sucks and the phone app is hard because if you're like me you're using your phone while watching a movie.

The only TV that works decently where I live is Direct TV. I have absolutely NO need for Apple TV. I did not put it down as a product. I just have no need for it. Watching ANYTHING on the Internet on a remote pacific island where you consider yourself LUCKY to get half a megabit of internet at night is just not feasible.

THEREFORE, I do not want to stare at an Icon for a product I cannot use.

I'm really hoping for Reeder for Apple watch. So I can scan through my RSS feed and save articles for later to read on my phone/iPad.

Absolutely agree with these. UK Bus Checker and Onefootball are probably my 2 favourite apps for the watch.

Besides the Apple apps,
- Foursquare
- Insteon (for my smart home)
- Lose It - Love that my calories show in my glances and I can quickly add more.
- Runkeeper - Starting and stopping work outs is easy
- Weatherunderground - More visually dapperly to me and I can see the radar!
- Flipboard - Quick news check
- CNN - I like their notifications for news
- Chronicle (bill tracking) - I can quickly glance at my bills due soon
- ESPN - Easy to check sports scores of my favorite teams
- 1Password - Have my favorites set to see certain passwords on my watch
- Target - Love being able to see the aisle something is in

I have not used all of these in-depth, and I am sure this list will change.

Wunderlist for grocery shopping is really useful but its glance seemed pointless so I took that out.

1Password and Weather Underground - I'm not sure how much I'll really use them on my watch but I use them all the time on my phone so they get to stay for a while.

Reading this thread I think Shazam might be fun to try on my watch. I never bother with it on my phone but if it's right on my wrist I may actually use it once in a while.
