the new touch only uses the A5 chip found in the iPhone 4S, but the new one is silly thin.

iPhone also has GPS, cellular data (they both have WiFi), an 8MP camera rather than a 5MP. There is a possibility of a better display (IPS vs TN) but I haven't seen the display spec for the 5th gen iPod Touch.

Oh, also the iPhone is $750 for 32GB capacity while the iPod Touch is only $300.

Aside from what's already been mentioned, ram is probably another one. I believe the 4th gen had 256MB and this new one will probably have 512MB. It's assumed the iPhone 5 has 1GB.

I double-checked with Apple after the event and what Joswiak said on stage is the truth — the new Touch sports the exact same display as the iPhone 5.

The new iPod touch and the 4S should be basically the same as far as game performance goes. The 'console quality graphics' that were shown off at the keynote were on the new A6 chip in the iPhone 5.
