This drives me insane. I guess it makes sense there is more room in the larger phone for a bigger sensor, but I hate the larger phone size after going 6sPlus>X>11Pro. I want the best but in the smaller package.

I feel the same as you. The 6.7 is a no go for me. 6.1 is great and I can live with 5.8 being made 6.1 but why should I get anything lesser just because it's slightly smaller and I pay only 100 bucks lesser?

As I said, I think both iPhone 12 models are really really great. The Pro Max is a fantastic phone for all large screen lovers. For someone like me that loves the Pro models in a smaller form factor, the missing features in the 6.1 is a huge bummer.

The greatest thing for me would be the 5.4 factor in a pro model but I get that it can't happen. I would have got the 6.1 in a heartbeat had it been the same as 6.7 but just smaller.

Now I am leaning towards the 128 mini.

Max, Can’t wait. Bigger screen and awesome cameras. Only thing I’m not looking forward to is the weight increase over my XS Max.

Likely just the Pro. I have an 11 Pro Max, and miss the XR size. This phone is giant and heavy, and given that when I watch videos on it its right in my face anyways, a bit more size isn't making much difference. And when I do need a giant screen... I've got enough of those around anyways.

As far as the camera differences go, neat on paper, doubt I'll notice in practise enough to care.

Pro, despite battery size and camera difference to the Max model.

edit: hope they release a smart battery case for the 12 as that’ll make it perfect for me.

I’m thinking a MagSafe battery that you can just click to the back of your case like the wallet does. I think that would be pretty cool as you could easily remove the bulk when you don’t need it.

Max for the wife as she won't see difference in bulkiness coming from 8+. Max because of the upgraded camera stabilization and pixel size over regular pro, screen size is also a plus.
I am holding to my se2020.

i dont like the size of the Pro MAX so no way on that, my iPhone 11 Pro is the perfect size and i wish the small 12 pro had the same features as the 12 Pro MAX so its kind of a dealerbreaker

Love the 12 Max camera specs, but sadly it's simply too large for me to be happy with long term. Regular 12 will be my choice this year, then who know's maybe next year we will see a Mini Pro.

I’m in the same boat as others regarding the camera. I value the camera the most but have gotten used the size of the 11. Now that the 12 Pro is closer in size to the 11 Pro and weighs about the same, I’m not sure I want to jump up to the Pro Max with it’s dimensions and 8.03 oz vs 6.66 oz.

I’m quite tall with big hands so using the Max wouldn’t be an issue. But getting used to that thing in my pockets again isn't appealing. For me it’ll come down to just how much better the camera is on the Max in real life situations.

Annoyed that the 12 Pro Max is even bigger than 11 Pro Max which I already think is annoying me.
It is only 2 mm taller and 1 mm wider and instead thinner than 11PM.

It is not big. The only difference better stabilization on wide camera and longer range on telephoto.
So if you don't take pictures of far away objects and don't shoot shaky videos from wide camera(gopro like) then you will not see any difference in real life.

I use a XS Max and I find it almost impossible to fit in my pocket. Some more weight and height just makes it worse. 6.1 Pro but with all the bells and whistles was the way to go for me. I have always disliked this about Apple.

They've pulled a master stroke with the mini as I think a lot of people will love that form factor if they don't need the Pro. I would have instantly opted for a 5.4 Mini Pro.

Seeing the pricing in India is another dampener. There's a 20% increase from the iPhone 11 to iPhone 12.

Not entirely true. The pixels on the Pro Max Wide angle sensor are larger and therefore let in more light.

In the same boat! Need to do a bit more research even tho i believe the 12 128 gb vs the 12PRO 128GB is rougly 120 more with taxes.... But dont really need the cameras/ Lidars etc....

It's amusing how the screen size has gone down but prices have gone up. The mini costs about 10% more than the normal iPhone 11.
Because it has an OLED screen and 5G and the 11 has LCD and doesn't have 5G. The price increase shouldn't be surprising at all.
