I am currently torn between sticking with 7.1b3 or going back to 7.0.4. What are you going to do?

No reason to go back to 7.0.4. What are you afraid of on b3? I am on b2 and I'm sticking to it.

See poll just posted. Many tweaks won't work with it. Also, it's only a theory that we have been able to remove the beta expiration. When D-day comes, it might not work and then you're SOL.

It's not a theory anymore. 7.1 beta 1 has expired and people have tested the removing beta expiration does work

As for me, I'm on 7.0.4

Once 7.1 is released officially, do you think devs will start updating their tweaks to support 7.1, even though you can only jailbreak the beta?

Also, is Apple even still signing beta 3?

I would say some dev's would and some won't

I'm not sure. I don't keep up with the betas

Like the other poster stated, b1 and b2 are already expired. I have been on b2 without a problem. I have had 0 compatibility issues on b2. Good luck

Which is riskier?

7.1 betas. Isn't that obvious? Where is the risk in staying on 7.0.4 - if we are discussing jailbreak here.

And no, devs won't update to support 7.1 when it comes out. Think about it - what's the reason they don't support the beta now? Because they can't test it. When 7.1 is officially out, how can they test their tweak on it when it's not jailbroken?

No lightning hdmi out on the betas is an easy 'No chance' for me. But even without that, the lack of support from devs and *regardless of how much 'proof' we have* the risk that apple still disables the beta(s) just isn't worth the effort imo.

And to answer your updated title. I'm sticking with 7.0.4 - for the reasons above and I have used 7.1 b2, both jailbroken and not...I have noticed some crashing in safari on 7.0.4 but aside from that I haven't noticed any difference. Maybe animations are better, I don't know, I use reduce motion + fast animations so I hardly have any time between switching into an app, basically none of this zooming/fading in and out stuff...

I'm confused as to some of these statements....first off, you should already know the risk of beta firmware before using it, (registered dev here on 7.1b5) and second, are we talkin regular apple devs or jailbreak devs?

think the OP is referring to jailbreak devs since this is the jailbreak section

I'm on 7.0.4. What if you plug your device into iTunes on a 7.1 beta after 7.1 has been officially released and iTunes makes you restore cause your on a beta? Is that a real thing? That's always been a big factor in me not keeping the beta - even with the plist mod.

When you spoof it, it thinks it's no longer in beta. So that wouldn't be an issue
