Hello
I just bought an PowerBook G4 as an 17 inch. But the battery is dead. So i Looked up at eBay and saw prices like 200€ For a new battery. Well i dont Pay that much for that. Is There maybe a battery that fits also in the PowerBook G4? Like Maybe Form a MacBook Pro Early 2008?

So Maybe i can repair the battery?

You might be able to, but unlike some of the older/thicker batteries in the iBook G3s and G4s, the PowerBook 17-inch battery uses lithium-ion polymer cells, not cylindrical lithium cells (such as the 18650). The challenge would be in tracking down the correct Li-ion polymer packs which might work/fit inside the PB 17-inch battery form factor.

On one upside, I have noticed, at least with the 15-inch A1138 PowerBook G4, the absence of a charged battery doesn’t down-clock the CPU. If this is something you’re worried about (some Titanium G4s and all Intel laptops downclock without a working battery), this information might be helpful to know. For example, on my 17-inch A1139, I believe one polymer pack in the Apple-supplied battery is still doggedly hanging in there, as I’m able to get about five minutes of runtime without a power supply plugged in.

so if i read right. i only have to search for the right li ion polymer packs. and then i have to soldering it right to it
