Hi,

I am installing a OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 2.5-Inch SATA 3 SSD on my friend's Macbook Pro 15" (2011) 2.2Ghz (8,2) macbook pro with Data Doubler optibay replacement kit.

My question is where to install the SSD for maximum data throughput.

I heard the optical bay is only 3 Gigabit. The traditional bay is 6 Gigabit.

Is this true? If so, I should install SSD on the traditional bay, right?

Thanks.
