What would be a good Mac compatible camcorder to buy basically just for home movies, does not have to be fancy. Looking for something under $300.

Don't know how much they cost in the states but a second hand Canon HV20 or a Canon HV30 would be fantastic. You might be able to pick one up for the that price. If it is only a little bit more it would be well worth it to spend some extra to get one. Great camcorders.
