Which camcorders compatible with FCE HD 3.0 & iMovie HD?

I'm looking to purchase my first camcorder and would like a HiDef one if possible. I want to edit using iMovie HD and/or Final Cut Express HD 3.0. It's a good job I decided to do my homework on this because selecting the right camera for my needs appears to be a minefield. How can I find out in advance whether a camera I choose is going to be compatible with these programs, esp. when using AVDHC?

Can anyone recommend a suitable make/model?
