Curious to know what credit card will you guys be using to purchase the new iPhone 15? I am siding on the Chase Reserve over the Amex Platinum. Both get 1 year extended warranty and 90 day return protection but the Chase Reserve gets 120 day purchase protection compared to Amex Platinum's 90 days. So that won me over. I know I can get the 3% cash back from my Apple Card but the benefits of the Amex Platinum and Chase Reserve are more important to me even though I only gain 1 point per dollar.

I also did notify both credit card company's to expect a large purchase in the near future. ;) I think Amex Platinum you just use the spending tool and that's all there is to it. Chase I actually had to call. Probably an unnecessary step but good practice and peace of mind I guess. lol

I’m honestly so annoyed Apple removed the ability to buy a SIM free phone using the Apple Card with no interest. As a prepaid customer, my phone number is not recognized by the carriers. It was nice having the option even if I didn’t need it.

Also lose the benefit of the instant trade in credit with the SIM free phone. Trash.

If you do not regularly make large purchases on your credit card, you should call you bank the day before and warn them. If not they might reject and mess up you order.

I will be buying my 15 PM on my Apple card to get the 3% discount and then pay it off after the charge clears.

No credit card. Using by Apple gift card balance which is funded from all those deals during the year where you get 10-15% off Apple gift cards.

Easy discount on the new iPhone that way. And of course I earned credit card rewards on those gift card purchases as well.

On AUP. Use apple card for the monthly payments. 3% cash back. No I don't need to call Goldman Sachs. I can use my Gold Amex but why do that when AUP is practically a free loan.

If you have to put it on a credit card, you can't afford it.

I put absolutely everything on credit card and pay off said credit card 100% every month. I, for example, just bought $2500 worth of plane tickets...should I have walked into the airport with cash? Credit cards give 2-3% back on every purchase, so why not put a new phone or watch on my credit card?

I haven't paid a penny in CC interest in a decade. Think before you post.

What a stupid statement. I can't very well give the Apple website cash when purchasing. I pay off my card in full every month. As such, I pay no interest.
So what’s the point of creating debt? To get those airline points? To improve your credit score? You’re playing into their system. This is what they want you to do. I’ll stop posting on this thread because it’s not topic-relevant, but think before you blindly play your role.

You are not playing into the system if you pay it off before it's due. You don't even know how the system works.

It’s okay some people can’t handle credit cards and if that’s the case then you’re best to steer clear. For the rest of us that do not carry a balance and pay in full monthly it’s a no brainer to use the credit card.

I’ll probably use the Apple Card for the 3% and then pay it off end of month.

‘I use the “system” when it is an advantage to me!

The mental gynmnastics people perform in order to justify getting into debt ("bUt i PaY iT oFf aNd gEt pOinTs!") never fails to amuse!

So Americans are over $1tn in credit card debt, but you have the solution? Sure. Tell me all about it.

How do you pay for things online? Do you feed cash bills in through the usb-c drive? and please don't tell me you use a debit card or bank account online because I can go in to all the risks involved with that.

Good thing I am not American. Clearly you failed at gymnastics.
I've never been in debt by using a credit card, not once. But I've taken a few trips for free because I used points.
No need you won't listen.

Yup. I don’t use my debit card. I use Amex gold/Apple Card/American Airlines Mastercard. This whole year I’ve been traveling with kids using points/miles. Just this upcoming weekend going on a 3 day trip. From total cost only paid $256 out of pocket. I pay balance on the 25th of every month. My credit utilization @ 7%. Score @ 780+. Got a mortgage and family business. Who uses cash now a days?

I used my Apple Card and I had a really fun time having my purchase declined and my Apple Card locked, leading me to talk with two Goldman Sachs Apple Card supervisors that made me verify my identify before I could finally use it again to pre-order. It's been frustrating, but at least my pre-order info is now saved for Friday. I didn't have this issue last year using the card for pre-order.

Added value of my credit card extended warranty instead of having to buy AC+.

I think I understand what you’re trying to say. But I for one pay literally everything with my credit cards in order to get travel points, warranty, purchase protections etc. At the end of the month, I just pay my cards in full, therefore, don’t pay any interest. And I get points. Used points to purchase business class tickets for Japan this November and didn’t have to pay anything out of pocket. My cards have reimbursed me for old purchases for products that have stopped working or were stolen. It’s very beneficial. I saw somewhere you refer to us as “Americans” so even with this explanation, I doubt you’ll understand what I just wrote and will double down on your opinion. I’d say don’t comment on something you don’t fully understand.
