which disk to erase to do a clean install?

in my disk unlities i have 320.07 TOSHIBA and Macintosh HD which one to erase to do a clean install of Lion?

first time formatting on a mac..

They're the same physical disk.

"320.07 TOSHIBA" refers to the hard drive as a whole.

"Macintosh HD" refers to the only partition you have on the HDD. If you had another partition it would be listed in line with MacintoshHD.


You can do it from either, easier thing to do is chose 'Macintosh HD', then the erase tab.
