Which Display

I am newbie to all of this and need advice from the experienced.

I have a mid 2010 iMac27, MBP and MBA.
The iMac 27 has a mini display and the MBP & MBA have the thunderbolt.

I was looking at getting a display, but learned some things.

1. The Cinema Display will work with all 3 of my devices, but can only hook one up at a time.

2. The Thunderbolt Display will NOT work with iMac27. However, it will work with the MBA & MBP AND can be "daisy chained"

My original idea was to get another display and run with my iMac27 and MBA at the same time (if possible), but that seems to not be an option.

Any recommendations of what to do/ buy?

The Thunderbolt Display will work with your iMac? Just purely as a display and not give you the ports?

Edit - Hmm, seems not, odd.

What is your main device? I'm confused by having 3 Macs.
