I must admit, when I joined MacRumors I was very wary of starting new threads, and limited myself to replies until I felt more comfortable. Do you tend to fall into one of these two groups, or are you about even?

I really, really try to reply to threads... but just ask Blue Velvet, I'm not always successful.

I am 100% perfectly even in this regard for every reply I start another thread.

Hold on have to start another thread....

Actually I'm more of a replier. I rarely start threads, I've been burned a few times on duplicate threads, even though I've searched so starting new threads is something I really try to avoid, unless I get fed up and feel the need to consolidate speculative threads when new products/features are announced and I see hundreds of threads that all ask roughly the same questions.

I do a lot of replying. Starting new threads seems to be a bit overkill unless you have a very unique question or comment, which is difficult to do with a site with this many members and threads.

at first i'd only reply to threads, but it was still a little intimidating because i'm still relatively new to apple. so many people in these forums seem to have a great deal of knowledge about apple...computers...technology what have you. and of course there are those who seem to get really annoyed when someone doesn't know everything they do but... for the most part, it's nice to have a community of people who are willing to share their knowledge and help.

I can't imagine there's anyone that starts more threads than they reply in, it just wouldn't make sense.

I'm a fairly prolific thread starter (mainly bizarre current events :p), but even so, I reply a lot more than I start new.

....oh, and, MRoogle FTW! :D

I almost always reply to existing threads. I used to just read, and never post, but I've been trying to be a more active member lately, especially when I see a thread that could use a dose of sarcasm.

I have only started a handful of threads, most of my posts have been replies to existing threads.

Like this one. ;)
