Which Dragon Quest DS game?

Just put an order down for Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Nanostray 2 (both good games?), but Amazon went and recommended the DS Dragon Quest games. They're fairly cheap but I don't like to spend too much in a month on games. So which should I get first? Given that I've never played a DQ game before I'm after a nice long story and a good difficulty curve.

So that's either Joker, Heavenly Bride or Chapters of the Chosen.

Haven't played either one, so can't really help, sorry.

This is slightly off topic, but when you get Nanostray 2 let us know what you think. I really enjoyed the first one, took me back to the old days of endlessly popping quarters into arcade machines, but with fresh graphics and variety.
