Hi,

I am coming from a pc with a Blu-Ray burner (LG), and I want to use it with my iMac (2.66 i5, 2010).

As far as I've seen, I need an external case. What should I consider? It should be firewire, right? Which type?

Or should I buy an external drive?

Thanks for your help.

PS - I'm in Europe, by the way, I need to buy it in the E.U.

The drive is 5.25" format, is that correct?

I'd look for a firewire 800 case that also has (either) USB2 or USB3.

Or, just a firewire 800 case (no USB).

Or even a USB2 case. My understanding is that USB2 is fast enough to handle BluRay playback...

Not sure about the exact size, but it's the standard PC size, 5.25" sounds spot on.

There are also some external Blu-Ray recorders for under $/€ maybe they are a good option?

"There are also some external Blu-Ray recorders for under $/€ maybe they are a good option?"

They should work fine.

I meant:

There are also some external Blu-Ray recorders for under 100 $/€ maybe they are a good option?
