Hi Y'all...

HISTORY:
My beloved powerbook g4's combo drive zoinked out (I insert any sort of disc, it spits it right out.)

PROBLEM:
Need a solution... either a new External Combo Drive or an External DVD-Burning drive.
Don't need anything fancy, I barely used the drive to begin with...

ISSUE:
Which are COMPATIBLE with Macs in general and specifically mine? None of the ones I've seen online say they are!

PREFERENCES:
I want a combo drive which is 1. affordable 2. compatible and 3. NOT bulky 4. can get here to Houston quick, I'm leaving in a week and a half for another country!

- Anyone know of any reliable BRANDS?
- Should I spring for the DVD-burning one even if I don't need to burn CDs? (I don't have my computer backed up... I could do that on DVDs, right? Or should I get an extra hard-drive...? I don't want 50 peripherals!)
- Should I get a hard-drive to back this up and say 'SCREW a CD/DVD drive!'

And yes, I know external combo-drives are 'old school'. In fact I'm having problems tracking them down...

Here are my specs:
Bought this 15" powerbook back in 2003
OS 10.3.9
Processor: 1 Ghz PowerPC G4
Memory: 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM

thank you for website...

should i be looking for what's compatible with the PB G4 or is the main thing if it's compatible with OS 10.3.9?

Also, in your opinion... should i go for a DVD-burner as well?
