Which external hardrive?

I'm looking for one with minimum 1TB storage and under £300. Any ideas?

I also plan to plug it into an AirPort Extreme for AirDisk use.

Try googling what you think you would need. Its hard to advice someone on such a broad topic.
Search for 1 Tb drives and then try comparing what they offer with what you need.

I know what I need I just need to know about the reliability? Which brands to I stick with? Which do I avoid? Stuff like that

I need a 1TB (minimum) HD that is quiet, relatively fast, very reliable and that is able to be connected to AirPort Extreme for AirPort Disk use.

This is my first HD and the only names I have heard of are Maxtor, Lacie and Iomega.
