I've noticed that external drives appear to fail more frequently than internal drives. Given that the drives themselves are identical I assume this must be down to the enclosure in some way.

I need a large capacity external firewire drive for my Mac Mini. Yes, I'll back up, but I'd like to get the same level of reliability I've always enjoyed with the internal drives on my Macs.

Any recommendations?
