looking to get an external HD for my mbp...which one are you using?

i'd like to get at least a 2GB, any suggestions??

Do you mean 2TB? basically just check out the hard drives, if they've got a high MTBF (mean time between failure) that's good, if you think you want firewire then look for that too although it's not very necessary except for the first back up.

sorry ur right i mean 2TB...unless 1TB would be sufficient for the average computer user....how do i know if it has good MTBF??

Read reviews, check ratings, newegg.com is a good source to check the specific drives, I prefer to buy my own hard drives and put it into an external case.

EDIT: if you're just looking for an all in one external hard drive I (me, personally although others would probably argue) would go with Western Digital

what is an all in one external HD?

Where you buy the hard drive and external case in one package rather than buying the hard drive, then buying an external case for it and putting the hard drive into the case yourself.
