Which External HDD?

I'm looking (so far) at getting a 15" rMBP, either with 256 GB SSD or 512 GB SSD. In either case I plan on getting an external HDD as I plan on using this laptop for a while, say 4-5 years if not longer. My choices are:

I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the direction of one or the other, perhaps from personal experiences. OR, if you guys have any other recommendations I'd love to hear them

Either will do fine, I'd go with WD though, I have 3 WD portable drives lying around (2TB My Passport, 2TB Elements and 500GB My Passport Ultra), no issues with any of them.

Don't forget about a separate drive for TM backups!
