What features would you like to see in WatchOS 7. I have been running it on my Series 5 and, other than what appears to be significant Battery Health degradation (97% to 92% over the first two weeks), it looks OK. However there are a couple of features / nuances I wish was implemented:
- Messages app sync - Can they sync everything? I hate having to delete spam SMS twice, from both my iPhone and my Watch
- Smart Cellular Radio - I have noticed that LTE radio is, at least in my usage, the biggest drainer of battery. What I do to mitigate this, is when I am home, which usually I have my Wifi and iPhone nearby, I turn it off, as well as I go out and carry my phone. However, I do go out running or jogging every day, and for them I use Apple Music and turn Cellular on also to get calls or notifications, leaving my phone at home. How great would it be if the Cellular Radio was able to turn itself ON when it detected there is no other connection available, and off again when it detects its iPhone is nearby or is under a known Wi-Fi Connection. Many times I have forgotten to turn it back off and it starts consuming battery needlessly, or I have started my exercise and the song stops and I realize it is because I never turned LTE on.

Any others?

Custom notification sounds and ringtones.

My iPhone is set so that only calls from contacts will ring. That works on the watch, too, when close to the phone. It would be nice if the watch suppressed calls from non-contacts in the same way when I'm away from the phone.

This is actually how it works now. You’re wasting your time turning lte on and off. The lte radio is into activated if your watch can’t find your phone or a wifi network.

That was my understanding as well. But I am convinced something is running if you leave it on. I can’t make it through the full day with it on. I can if it’s off and only turned on when I need it.

I would like to be able to pair my watch with my iPad.

I would like to be able to update my watch without having to use the iPhone.

I would like a larger more efficient battery.

I would like to be able to see my body temperature.

I would like to be able to sync the same ringtone between devices.

I would like to see a stock calorie counter.

Absolutely - I want custom ringtones to be able to distinguish between specific callers and also custom sound notifications so a "ding" for a message received is not the same as when a timer ends.

You are right. I was so used to updating pre-WatchOS6 that I kept doing it that way, without realizing I didn’t have to.
Glad I could help! I need to start doing this method as well. The watch update process through the phone is so finicky I just let the update run and don’t touch my phone until it’s done, it’s quite annoying.
