I have iphone 4s unjailbroken. I'm interested which files can harm the ios device downloaded from the web (with special apps from app store that give you some permissions to download from the web)? Apps, videos, pictures, music or any of them can give virus?

Please can you explain why it doesn't happen? If I download any videos I want from the web with video downloader, can't the downloaded video have viruses? Or why doesn't it affect ios can you explain please? :)

One is market share. Virus authors go for widely deployed vulnerabilities.

One is vulnerability. Windows is like swiss cheese because everything from the kernel to the web browser runs with root privileges. Everything from an email containing a .wsh script to a web site to an exe downloaded and run in a popunder window can make your windows box sick whereas on OS X and iPhone OS, the browser and the Mail programs are not trusted processes.

One is architecture. iPhone OS and OS X are based on Unix which employs an architecture designed to insulate user processes and settings from system processes and settings. There are exploits that can allow a process to gain root privileges but they require specialized code to be run that is not available through normal channels. Stick to normal channels like the app store and you won't have a problem. iPhone OS has the additional advantage of a moderated executable content distribution channel: the app store, and its significantly more risk alternative Cydia.

One is user awareness. iPhone OS and OS X only pop up to tell you stuff that is important like "allow this app to use your current location?" or "you just downloaded this from the internet, are you sure you want to run it?" Unlike windows which bothers you with 50 nuisance dialog boxes for every real one, pay attention to dialogs on OS X and iPhone OS and you can practice safe computing.

Which files cause virus

I can tell you that I've had viruses channel through the phone and into my computer. When my phone was plugged into the pc by the cord. I kept getting various viruses even with anti virus software and firewalls. Never thought the phone would be the path. So it is possible no matter what apple says.

I really really doubt that your phone was plugged in to your pc and the viruses channeled through that.
That's totally false and not possible for many many reasons that Im not even gonna bother explaining to you.
But if you want to blame it on that and not other activities done on your PC then that's up to you:D

That is not currently possible.

My ass! What did it upload? Skynet?

Afraid so guys. The viruses came through the email. I even caught the phone froze up and wouldn't respond cause it was mailing out stuff through my phone. Then I had friends tell me that they got emails from me for porn. The people that got them were my contacts on my phone but not on the pc

Not possible.
No such virus exists to infect the iOS mailbox.
The virus was on your computer most likely.
