I'm thinking of picking up the Canon HV30, I just can't find what type of firewire cable to pick up.

Guess I'd want to use the firewire 800 port. Is the port on the HV30 a 4 pin and the port on my MBP a 9 pin? So a 4 to 9 pin cord? Sorry this is my first Mac and I dont have much experience dealing with Firewire.

Thanks for any feedback.

ok, so I can't use firewire 800 with it? I read something about that.

You could, but there's no point. A 4-6 pin cable will probably be cheaper than a 4-9 pin, and since the port on the camera is only FW400, if you hooked it up on the 800 on the computer, it would just run at 400 speeds anyways.

Got ya, thx!
