Hi, was wondering if some one could help clear this up for me. Was looking at the downloads on the Apple site and saw the firmware update 1.6 MBP51.0074.B01. When checking System Profiler my version is MBP51.007E.B00.

Which of the 2 is the latest version? Have had a look on Google and Mroogle without much success. Is the first string or second string of numbers the important ones to note? As looking at the first string the one I currently have would seem to be more up to date, E over 4, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

if System Update says you're up to date then you have the one that you need.

I believe different models have different firmware numbers. Like Vicious stated, if you run Software Update and nothing comes up, you have the latest version for your MacBook Pro.

Cool, cheers guys. I hadn't realised system update took care of the firmware as well as the software, too used to Windows lol.
