Part of the old MR guard.
After my MacBook hard drive had failed, I decided that I needed to purchase a newer hard drive to replace the old one.

Which brand and which hard drive models do you guys suggest? Hitachi was such a fail and I will never use it again.

Thanks in advance,
Rekhyt

I like Western Digital, but I heard in an interview from a guy who runs a rather large custom PC company that all HDD brands have about a 3% failure rate, so it really doesn't matter. They have some of the lowest failure rates and the most consistent across brands.

If you ask a large group, someone has had a drive from every company fail and "will never use it again".

Just make sure you back up your data.

I think phormality said it perfectly (except to keep the receipt :))

My most 'recent' batch of drives have been Western Digital, Hitachi and Samsung - and I haven't had a problem with any of them.
