Which hard drive to buy to replace old HDD?

My friend needs a new hard drive since his died on him a few months ago. He has the MBP from 2009. Can you guys recommend a good brand to use as a replacement and also where to buy? It doesn't matter how much memory, a 320 gb will be fine.

Also, what brand do the current MBP use for hard drives?

i have a samsung spinpoint m8 i like it

Brand doesn't matter. Just go to Newegg, filter down to 2.5" drives, and buy one that has a good number of reviews and a high rating.

I've been using Hitachi or Western Digital brands with great success.

On the SSD side, Samsung 830 series is my favorite.

I am really torn between the Western Digital 1 TB Scorpio Blue 5400rpm and the Samsung SpinPoint 1 TB 5400rpm for my MBP. They get very similar reviews and have similar price points. I have had WD drives before and currently have a few WD externals, I am very pleased with them. Does anyone have anything to say about these drives, and what would you suggest? Also is there any good deal sites? I have be mainly looking on newegg and amazon. Thanks
