Which hard drive upgrade for MBP 4,1?

The time has finally came. My applecare runs out in 2 weeks and I have about 20 gb left on my hard drive. So my question is, what do those of you with the same MBP recommend? I figure its pointless to blow the money on an SSD since this mac only has the 1.5gb sata. I was thinking of getting a Seagate Momentus XT since it would probably be the best performance improvement. Also, is there anything to look out for? Thanks

I recently upgraded my MB 160GB drive to the Momentus XT 500GB and couldn't' be happier. Yes, SSD is faster overall, but the Momentus is a great value for price/performance.

I can recommend the WD Scorpio Blue 1 TB 9.5 mm. I use it in my own Mid-2009 and Early-2011 MBPs. The Seagate Momentus XT is probably one of the slowest HDs on the market.

I didn't see anything about the momentus xt being slow. Everything I saw about it was either as fast or faster than the blue. Although I do remember looking at the WD blue. I also like the reliability of WD products. You do know im talking about the Hybrid drive right?
 
Ill just have to look at it a little more. The blue can be had with more storage but the XT is faster and would probably make it less painful to keep an aging machine.

A friend of mine bought the Momentus XT for his MBP 3,1, and it is quite a bit faster than a regular drive.

The downside is that his battery life took a roundhouse kick to the groin.
