Which Icy Dock is the correct one for 2.5" SSD to 3.5" sled conversion?

I see a couple different ones listed here:

MB882SP-1S-1

and then

MB882SP-1S-2B (new)

Does the new one connect any differently than the old one? As far as I can tell all the mounting points seem to be identical and it's just a design refresh with more ventilation (irrelevant for SSD really). But I'd obviously rather be sure before ordering one.

Sorry for the German, but just trying to make sure this is right. It doesn't seem to have any securing points for the SSD. Is it just sandwiched in there when it's closed? Because I don't see and screws or prongs that fit into the SSD screw holes.

Both work..one's black and one's white...
 
Get the one from Alternate. That is where I got mine and it works without any issues.

I mounted it in the lower optical bay.

Hi there, both versions are doing the job just fine. The 2B version also is already listed on the German website though not in the shops yet.. Europe probably will get it a bit later.

The difference is besides the ventilation slots that the 2B version is plastic only while the first version has internal metal brackets. at least that is what i get from the specifications.

see the specifications tables at the bottom of the pages.. also on the german site:

so the new version is more geared towards a lower price while the older version offers metal brackets. its your choice ;)

Actually the shops here have both versions. Even U.S. company products are available here at or soon after launch in Europe.

Picked up two of the older one due to the metal brackets. Much more durable. Fits perfectly too. Couldn't be happier. Much recommended product.
