I just sold my 21.5-inch i3 because the warranty was expiring and I didn't want to purchase AppleCare. I am buying either the 27-inch 3.2GHz i3 (July 2010) or the 21.5-inch 2.5GHz i5 (May 2011). Regardless of which one, I am buying refurb from Apple.com.

I don't need the processing power or the screen size more than the other. I am just trying to figure out which will be easier to sell in a year. It's between the 21 and 27, and the i3 and i5 processors. Trade-offs suck.

Yes i5. People won't want an i3 in 12 months time. i5 will probably still be used in, then, current models.

Thanks for the input guys. Anyone else want to chime in before I pull the trigger?

I appreciate the info!

There's 1 for the 27-inch i3.

It also just hit me that the i3 is dual core and the i5 is quad core. Another deal breaker for the 27.

Anything is easy to resell if you price it low enough.

YOu will take less of a hit reselling a low end Mac than a high end Mac.

Less depreciation and more consumers looking for a less expensive Mac.

Some of that doesn't help you.

I think newer is also easier to resell.

Stick with newer 21.5".
