I currently have a 17" Westinghouse LCD. The plan is to get an imac in the next month or so. I'm either going to get the 17" imac and rock two screens OR I'm going to sell the 17" Westinghouse and go with the 20" imac. What would you do?

I would get the 17" iMac and the 17" Westinghouse LCD. Having more screen space from the secondary display is nice. The second display will come in handy if you do video editing, Garageband, all that stuff.
that's kind of what i was thinking, plus selling the 2nd monitor would be a hassle imo. the good news is that it will look nice with two white monitors of similar size. i will need to elevate the external lcd to be level/flush with the imac.
I'd get the 20", as you can't upgrade that once you've got it. You can always add a second display later down the line if you want.
I'd get the 20" if aesthetics is more important to you and the 17" pair if function is more important. The 17" setup will net you more desktop space, non? However, I personally can't see the 17" pair looking very good. Plus resale of 20" iMacs seems to be better (coming from a 17" owner). Look at refurbs, also... you might be able to afford a 20" or even 24" at that rate.
